Here's How You Can Avoid the Latest COVID-19 Scam
On Tuesday, the US Federal Trade Comission (FTC) warned about scammers pretending to be government officials in order to get victims bank information. If people share that information, the scammers claim in an email, they'll get money from a COVID-19 "Global Empowerment Fund."
According to the FTC, no such funds exist. This is but another phishing scam aimed to target vulnerable people during these desperate times. If you happen to come across one of these scams, it is important to report it here: ftc.gov/complaint.
