It is our belief that privacy should be your choice and our business is to bring you that option. Our goal is to keep the bare minimum data possible and remain in compliance with U.S. laws and all partner peering agreements. 

This document (hereinafter – the “Privacy Policy”) explains the privacy rules applicable to all information collected or submitted when you access, install or use the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service.

Our top priority is customer data security and as a result we maintain no logs on what our customers do while using the internet. We collect minimal user data in order to efficiently run our network and keep customer account data accurate. 

By visiting installing and/or using the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service you confirm that you have read this Privacy Policy and that you enter into legally binding relationship with Datacamo (hereinafter – “Datacamo“, “our”, “we“ or “us”), as well as you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with the rules of this Privacy Policy, please do not use any of the services provided by Datacamo.

Processing of your data

Datacamo processes user data only to a very limited scope – only as much as it is absolutely required for provision of the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service, processing of payments for Datacamo Private Home Internet Service and as needed to maintain an efficient network. Personal data is processed by Datacamo both automatically and manually. Datacamo uses third party data processors only for processing of payment data, and basic website analytics.

Datacamo guarantees a strict no-logs policy for Datacamo Private Home Internet Service, meaning that your activities using Datacamo Private Home Internet Service are provided by automated technical process, are not monitored, recorded, logged, stored or passed to any third party. We do not store connection time stamps, session information or traffic logs. From the moment a Datacamo user activates the Datacamo Router and their account, their Internet data becomes encrypted. Any online traffic coming from user’s device is no longer visible to ISP, third-party snoopers or cyber criminals. During troubleshooting and only with your express consent may we capture data for limited analysis purposes, this data will be destroyed the instant the trouble ticket is resolved.

If you choose to create a user account, you must provide the following basic information:

  • Name - We use this to connect to your account ID number.

  • Email address. We ask for your email address as part of your registration. That ensures that we can communicate with you, if you opt-in, when we have any exciting announcements to make, service updates to advise or errors to report. Valid email address is also needed to retrieve a lost password.

  • Physical Address -  In order for the Datacamo router to work seamlessly and have access to all Internet Data including streaming services, we issue static IP addresses associated with a physical address where the Datacamo router is in place. This allows us to peer directly with content providers  and ensure fast and uninhibited access to content that may have geographical distribution restrictions. It is important to understand that Datacamo does not hide your location or identity but rather protects your data from being recorded and sold by the ISP and third parties as well as  preventing throttling of specific internet services by the ISP. 

  • Payment Data - Payments are handled through 3rd party application called Stripe. Datacamo does not store any credit card information, the only payment information we keep is a reference to Stripe so we can charge for services and a record that your account is active and current. 

  • Other Data - We store the IP addresses issued by your ISP, the IP addresses issued to your account by Datacamo Inc., Referral Information to credit your account for free service earned, and total data usage to manage our network efficiently.

  • Disclosure of Data - Datacamo has an account Dashboard for every customer. The data we have on your account is clearly displayed on the Dashboard so you always know what we have stored. We do not disclose your data to any third parties for advertising or any other purpose.

  • Government Subpoena - Should Datacamo receive a government subpoena to release account data, we will comply with those requests. Keep in mind that we can only disclose what we have and since we do not log, only top line account data can be released. 

You must maintain your account information current, truthful, complete and accurate. You warrant that you are authorized to provide such information. You authorize us to verify your information at any time. If it is found to be untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, we retain the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your user account and your access to the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service.

In order to maintain the Network service, Datacamo also processes limited technical information, which sometimes may be considered personal data. This information is used for improving the functionality and usability of our website and Datacamo Private Home Internet Service. If you decide not to provide this limited information, we may not be able to provide you with the full scope of the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service. Said information may include:

  • Customer service information. Datacamo stores inquiries and communications with users through the Contact Us and ZenDesk Help pages.

You can set up warnings to be displayed every time the Site places a cookie in your browser, or you can choose to disable all cookies. You can do both through your browser settings. Since each browser has a different procedure for managing cookies, look at your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to do it.

Personal data of underage persons

Persons younger than 18 shall not use the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service and provide any personal data to us without the supervision of the parents or guardians. Datacamo shall never knowingly collect personal information from persons younger than 18 based on the above, it is presumed that any person signing up for Datacamo Private Home Internet Service and supplying personal data to us is at least 18 years of age. If a person younger than 18 years old or a person, supplying wrongful data, becomes known to Datacamo, we may immediately and without notice suspend their access to some or all of Datacamo’s Services.

Grounds for data processing

Datacamo Private Home Internet Service may process your personal data (first name, last name, email address) for direct marketing if you ask us to by opting-in for updates and product releases. 

Your personal data protection rights

Your personally identifiable data is clearly displayed in your user dashboard. You may request we send you your information though we will refer you back to your dashboard. Feel free to download it at any time. If you wish for us to remove your data you first need to cancel your subscription. 

If you disagree with your data processing by Datacamo, you are free not to use the Datacamo Service, and to discontinue  use at any time. You may request us to discontinue processing of your personal data, in which case your data will be processed only as much as it is necessary to effect the discontinuation of your use of the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service (e.g., final settlement, or deleting all personal data based on your email address), or finalizing other Datacamo’s legal relationship with you (e.g. accounting, invoicing, processing refunds).

Due to technical reasons (such as database backups) all copies of your personal data may be retained for up to 60 days or longer, if a legal requirement exists.

If you wish to use the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service again, you will have to accept and agree to this Privacy Policy again.

Other Terms

Your data is processed under the jurisdiction of the USA.

Datacamo would like to remind you that our product protects your data while in transit and simultaneously encrypted by our service, however you are ultimately responsible for the security of your data. Always password protect your WiFi and we ask you to be careful when using and storing personal data containing files on your devices, as well as the devices itself. Please ensure that nobody accesses and uses your devices without your consent.

In order to ensure security of the personal data, Datacamo employs various administrative, technical and physical security measures, however it is your responsibility to exercise caution and reason when using the Datacamo Private Home Internet Service. You will be personally responsible if such action violates any third party’s privacy or any other rights, or any applicable law. Under no circumstances is Datacamo  liable for the consequences of your activities.

This Privacy Policy may be modified and updated at any time, at our sole discretion, for any or no reason, and without liability, as indicated below. Make sure to maintain a current valid email address on your dashboard so we can inform you when this policy changes and whitelist privacy@datacamo.com so updates are not detected as SPAM by your email provider. The date of the most current wording of the Privacy Policy is indicated at the top of the text. We ask all users to ensure that they are familiar with the most current wording of the Privacy Policy. The amendment of the Privacy Policy may be communicated to you by email. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under this Privacy Policy to any third party.
