Las Vegas Cops Used ‘Unsuitable’ Facial Recognition Photos To Make Arrests

It’s no surprise that police have began to rely more and more on things like facial recognition technology to aid in investigation. The question is: how reliable is technology?

Researchers say Las Vegas police have been using “unsuitable” probe images to identify suspects. These images are only able to provide likely matches with varying confidence scores assigned by the system.

This means cops are making decisions to arrest based off of images deemed to be “unsuitable”!
